I was so excited when Stuart contacted me about photographing his wedding proposal to his girlfriend, Claudia. They were going to be vacationing in San Francisco from Houston, TX and he knew it would be the perfect time to pop the question. We decided that Cupid’s Span (a romantic art piece) on the Embarcadero, was a fantastic spot to do it. In addition, he would ask her on his birthday. Lots to celebrate. We got in touch on Tuesday and were both a bit nervous that it was going to rain and our plans would need changing. But, come Wednesday, the sun was out and we were thrilled to go ahead with the plans. We texted our photos to each other so we could identify and make eye contact when he arrived on the spot. Boy, he was fantastic in following directions! He came right to the lawn area and dropped on one knee. His words to Claudia were: “The best birthday gift you could give me would be to say you’ll be my wife.” What a memorable wedding proposal. Claudia could not have been more surprised. They were both physically trembling when I went to them to congratulate them. Stuart said he was fine until he actually saw the Cupid’s Span. I took them to the water’s edge for some special portraits and let them be themselves on the pathways on the Embarcadero. They went to celebrate at the beautiful Waterfront Restaurant and the next day planned to take the Wine Train to Napa. Congratulations to Stuart and Claudia!
