In my work as a wedding photographer, I have the opportunity to see and capture many amazing California wedding venues. With that in mind, I wanted to highlight a venue I love to use to give my future clients a little help in that regard.

It’s hard to go wrong in the middle of Wine Country, what with the rolling hills and rugged country as well as the great food and luxurious charm. Bernardus Lodge is a gorgeous spa and retreat that aims to provide that Wine Country feeling for guests of any event. Set in the majestic Carmel Valley, it’s by far one of my favorite venues. From the luxurious lobby to the Tuscan walls and incredible gardens, it’s a feast for the eyes. More than that, I’ve found that the staff is welcoming and professional, making this Carmel wedding venue not only a photographer’s dream but also a dream for brides. On your wedding day, it’s so important to be able to rely on staff who can ensure everything is executed beyond your expectations.
I’ve had the pleasure of photographing events at the Bernardus Lodge’s beautiful and varied locations. The property provides such an incredible array of places to photograph my couples. This wine country retreat has such a sophisticated, timeless style that makes wedding photography effortless. From the sun-dappled vineyards and lush rose gardens to the luxe lobby and elegant ballroom, the lodge is truly an unforgettable setting.
When my couples choose Bernardus as their venue, we will often start in their luxurious suite before we head to the rosemary fields or the famous vineyards. Ceremonies often take place in the Wedding Garden, with the Santa Lucia mountain range providing a gorgeous backdrop. Receptions are held in the Meritage Ballroom providing breathtaking views of the mountains and property. When the fog rolls in from Monterey Bay, the mountains turn a lovely blue. The Santa Lucia Mountains separate the property from Carmel-By-The-Sea and the views from everywhere on the property are inspiring. What more could you ask for if you’re looking for majesty and awe in your wedding photography?
