Pier 7 Proposal Session | She Said Yes!

San Francisco proposal photography is one of my favorite types of photo sessions. And photographing Alessandro’s surprise marriage proposal to Emily was one for the books. About two months ago, Alessandro contacted me to describe his romantic vision for popping the question. Man, did he deliver!

He had seen photos of mine from prior proposals and loved the beauty of Pier 7 on San Francisco’s Embarcadero. I admit, it’s a real secret. So many times I find myself there, and don’t understand why the crowds haven’t found it. At sunset you can either take in breathtaking views of the City with Coit Tower and the Transamerica building or turn the other directions and take in the Bay Bridge and Treasure Island. At twilight, the wooden pier has antique-styled lamps that glow against the dusky sky.

Alessandro lured Emily to the pier with a picnic for their second anniversary. In addition, she is expecting their first baby. A lot to celebrate! I love sneaking up, playing tourist with my camera, and check on how my couples are doing before the question is popped. We had set the exact time for him to go on one knee, and I was ready. It was perfect.

She was blown away and tears started flowing. I just love capturing these moments. It’s also funny when she notices me capturing every tear with my camera. Such a special moment! I always take time to photograph my couples with different poses and at different locations. The light changes with time and the lights begin to twinkle, adding to the beauty of the portraits.

Marriage proposals are defining moments. When you decide that you want to ask one person to be with you for the rest of your life, you want everything to be captured with professional San Francisco proposal photography. I would love to help you plan your secret proposal. Whether you choose to ask for her hand in marriage on Pier 7, Palace of Fine Arts, Baker Beach, the Golden Gate Bridge, or Napa, I would be honored to help.

Congratulations to Alessandro and Emily!

Spread the love
