Capturing San Francisco Landmarks with Engagement Portraits
Golden Gate Bridge engagement photos are a wonderful way to celebrate this huge leap in your relationship! With so many stunning San Francisco Bay Area landmarks to choose from for engagement pictures, I recommend that my couples pick a few that are close together. Visiting a few different locations for portraits is a great chance to have a lot of variety your gallery. In addition, it offers a chance for a wardrobe change to mix up the pictures even more.
Beginning the engagement session at Lover’s Lane , we photographed on this beautiful path in the Presidio in San Francisco. Eucalyptus trees tower over a natural walkway, creating a beautiful tunnel-like experience. The Presidio is a beautiful calm respite amidst the hustle of city life in San Francisco. And, it is where San Francisco began. Founded at the Golden Gate in 1776, it served as a military fort under the flags of Spain, Mexico and the United States before it became a new kind of national park in 1994. History here isn’t stuffy and stolid – it’s a living, evolving journey that can be explored through countless events and experiences. And history is still being made at the Presidio through the park’s remarkable and ongoing transformation.
Whereas photos in the city or nature can be done in the morning or afternoon, Golden Gate Bridge engagement photos are best taken closer to sunset. For this session, we chose to photograph from Sausalito for epic Golden Gate Bridge views. The pink hues of the evening sky and views of the city offer a unique contrast. The rugged Pacific Ocean waters meeting the Bay is a sight to see.
