The Beach House opened to the public in 1936, thanks to the Works Progress Administration (WPA). It was originally built as changing rooms for Lake Temescal visitors and office space for the park district on the upper floor. The historical vibes add a unique touch to the venue, making it even more special. The indoor/outdoor aspect is ideal for winter months and shoulder seasons when the weather is uncertain.

As a Bay Area wedding photographer, one of my priorities is to find great options for couple’s portraits at the venue. This Oakland wedding venue has lovely options. The hidden garden on the private patio is perfection. The lush ferns and rambling waterfall make for great pictures.

In addition, Piedmont Park is lovely with a formal feel as well as the rugged hiking trails of Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park.
