An urban engagement session is a fun twist on couples’ portraits. Max and Marian were up to anything and let me take them to some of my favorite locations in San Francisco for their engagement session. We began at City Hall where we played with the beautiful natural light and architecture of this grand landmark. Marian wore a beautiful crimson lace cocktail dress which popped against the marble tones of the building. We then did a wardrobe change and headed to the Italian section of town, North Beach. This is a wonderful neighborhood with colorful alleyways and classic “mom and pop” shops. Not only do I feel that composition and light are important, but also including street life into my engagement images. This creates dynamic elements to the images which only become more interesting over time. They were such a good sport and I had a wonderful time eventually photographing their Vineyard wedding at Murrieta’s Well in the Livermore Wine Country. Congratulations to Marion and Max!
