Gorgeous Santa Barbara Beach Wedding | Ali & Jake - Nightingale Photography

As a Santa Barbara wedding photographer, I must say that this amazing beach wedding took my breath away. From the ceremony on a cliff overlooking the Pacific, to a colorful Latin themed reception next to the beach, this was an epic celebration. In addition, we had the privilege of making a beautiful Wedding Film for them. Many couples wonder if both stills and a wedding video is necessary. And if you can swing it, I always say yes. Still photos provide an image of a moment in time, but wedding videos capture both movement and sound. For as beautiful and artistic as still photos can be, they cannot capture motion or sound—which makes a wedding video a must-have.

Ali and Jake’s Southern California wedding took place on the lush grounds of Rancho Dos Pueblos in Goleta, just outside of Santa Barbara. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, the darling couple shared their vows on the grassy bluff overlooking the breathtaking Pacific Ocean. To say that this wedding made our jaws drop with beauty is an understatement. The colors incorporated into the details made my heart sing.

Cocktail hour and reception were held literally next to the property’s private, pristine beach. Warm breezes swept the mariachi music over the crowds as they toasted the newlyweds. As we took the couple for portraits on the magical grounds, they enjoyed an old swing, the backdrop of a barn from the 1920’s, tropical landscaping, an old bridge, and of course the epic sunset over the sea. As far as Southern California and Santa Barbara wedding venues, this one is a must see.

The wedding colors were vibrant and happy, with a nod to Ali’s Mexican heritage. And to top it off, she wore her mother’s precious lace veil down the aisle. A Santa Barbara wedding photographer like me could never get luckier. Congratulations to Ali and Jake!
