San Francisco Photographer | Proposal Session

As a San Francisco photographer, I relish the variety of commissions I receive. One of my favorites being the “proposal session.” The first thing that usually happens is that the soon to be fiancée will call me and ask how this is done. It’s so rewarding to lead him through the process and create a fun plan together. I will suggest landmarks in San Francisco that I feel are romantic and easy to get to. Then, we will decide on a plan to get his girlfriend to the spot looking her finest. Usually, that entails saying that a fancy dinner reservation was made. Usually that does hapen, a perfet celebartion dinner. Then, my client and I will  share photos so we can identify each other on the day of. We always make eye contact before he goes down on one knee and the rest takes care of itself. After the actual question is asked, tears are shed, embraces are made and we will go on to make some fun portraits around the location.

Allan and Lucy came from Los Angeles on an extended weekend vacation to San Francisco. He told her that there was a big art exhibit he wanted her to see. Instead, he asked her to spend the rest of her life with him. The location was Cupid’s Span on the Embarcadero in San Francisco. I love the ferry building in the background all the textured walls, the Bay Bridge and the streetcars. Lucy was adorable to photograph, with a with a beautifully wide open smile and warm eyes. Allan could not have done a better job and kept his cool the whole time. Lucy had no idea this was coming and I could not be happier for them. Congratulations on your engagement, Lucy and Allan.
