Is it Time to Consider a Micro Wedding?

If you are considering a micro wedding in the Bay Area, now may be your time. Right now couples are scrambling to make their 2020 weddings happen. Some will be able to maintain their current plans others need to postpone or make it a smaller affair. In all cases it is truly a challenge right now to plan an event. But, if you have entertained a smaller wedding or even an elopement, now might be the perfect time to make it happen. Venues are looking to fill up their calendars, and are flexible especially on weekdays. Caterers, musicians, photographers, makeup and all the other wedding industry professionals are eager to end this year with a bang. Also, small weddings provide a bit more wiggle room with the budget, which allows ample opportunity to get creative. Take a look at some of these reasons why a smaller celebration might be a good choice.

Less Planning

Some people genuinely love planning their wedding but not all. Executing such a large event is basically a full-time job, which can be hard when you already have a full-time job. A tiny wedding means tinier problems, which means tinier heart palpitations when something goes wrong. Having to think about moving 14 people inside if it rains? Not a big deal. Two hundred people? That’s a different story.

Less Overwhelming

So many brides say that their wedding day was a blur. With a large wedding, from coordinating with your planner to making sure you greet every guest, it’s super hard to step back and take it all in. A tiny wedding means you can talk to everyone and still escape with your partner every now and then to experience it as just the two of you.

Smaller Guest List

It’s hard not to feel pressure when it comes to the guest list, especially since every list has a cutoff number. While there always will be someone who is bound to be upset they didn’t get an invite, when you only invite your closest circle — “No, really, it’s a tiny wedding!” — it feels a lot less personal for those who didn’t make the cut.
