Frequently Asked Questions about Boudoir Photography

Boudoir Sessions make a great addition to your wedding year for a special occasion. Whether you are looking to create an unforgettable Boudoir Album as your groom’s wedding gift, or a special way to pamper yourself, you will feel sexy and confidant. EVERY woman should celebrate herself with a boudoir session!

Take a look at some of the most frequent questions clients ask before they schedule their session.

I’m really nervous. Is that normal?

It is definitely normal to be nervous for your boudoir session, so don’t worry. Most of our clients are nervous until the session has gone on for a few minutes. After it starts, you’ll begin to loosen up. I’m really casual and relaxed, so before you know it, we’ll be laughing having a blast.

What regions do you cover for boudoir photography?

Napa and Sonoma, San Francisco, San Jose and the East Bay.

I’m really nervous. Is that normal?

No, I don’t. Sessions take place at the location of your choice: your home, friend’s home, hotel. I need very little space. Just a bed and window light.

How do I know how to pose?

Don’t worry about posing. I’ve totally got you covered in that department. I know all the tricks to create the most flattering angles for you, no matter what shape or size you are.

Do your packages include hair and makeup?

No, they don’t. Because each client is so unique, some want to hire a pro make-up/hair team, some just want an easy makeover at the Sephora counter. It’s up to you.

Do you provide the wardrobe?

We do not provide your wardrobe. I will be guiding you through three different looks and you get to choose the best items for yourself with my guidance.

I want share these pictures with my partner, but I don’t want loose prints floating around. Any ideas for the best gift?

This is a very common concern and totally understand. I recommend placing an order for our little black book. This is much more discreet and will keep all of your images in one place and not floating around. I also offer folios and accordion albums as well. For more information on these products, just ask.

What should I bring to my boudoir session?

For our sessions, we suggest two to three different outfits and any props you may want to incorporate. I always recommend a black garter with stockings, black lacy bra or bustier and a pair or two of killer heels. For prop ideas, many clients will bring their partner’s dress shirt and look sexy in it with panties and no bra.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes, you can bring a friend if you think it will help you relax. However, sometimes an extra set of eyes has the opposite effect, even if it is a friend. They are more than welcome to come, but if they are making you uncomfortable, they may have to wait out in the lobby.

 Do you do touchups?

Yes, I will smooth skin and do some basic retouching on all of your portraits.

I’m not a model – are boudoir photos still flattering even if my body isn’t perfect?

Absolutely! Nobody is perfect and every woman is sexy. If you have any specific concerns, contact us and we can talk about it!

Do I have control over who sees my images?

Yes, most certainly. Iwill only share photos if you have given us permission and have approved the images for sharing. We respect your wishes and won’t post or share any images if you’d prefer they stay private.
