Qiava and Jonathan’s downtown San Francisco engagement session can be summed-up simply as “glamorous.” Their good looks, timeless styles and unforgettable love for one another truly helped me to create these memorable photographs. I was jumping for joy when I saw Qiava’s magenta dress with the full skitrt. And then I was howling in delight when I saw her change into a tulle skirt! This is just eye candy for a photographer. We began in downtown San Francisco, using the beautiful architecture as props and the dramatic afternoon light to our advantage. We ended up at the Marin side of the Golden Gate Bridge for an iconic view. For this blog post, I decided to Qiava to describe her choices for this engagement session and what she thought about it.
From Qiava: “Jonathan and I wanted to do the shoot in San Francisco since it was the city in which he proposed. We love how romantic downtown San Francisco looks and feels. The beautiful structures are timeless and made a wonderful backdrop. The photos that Christina took represented us more than I ever imaged. Jonathan always makes me laugh and smile and she was able to capture those precious moments. We are best friends that fell in love and you could totally see that in the film. As far as our wardrobe inspiration, we were going for a classic “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” look- well I was Jonathan just wanted to look and feel comfortable. We wanted something that would pop on camera and at the same time show our romantic and whimsical sides. I am a huge fan of Audrey Hepburn and Carry Bradshaw of Sex in the City. As my wedding day approaches, I am feeling both excited and eager to start the next chapter of my life with Jonathan. I am anticipating the moment I get to walk towards Jonathan as we see each other for the first time. I plan to hold that visual in my heart forever.”
